For my Flash ActionScript 3.0 Media Player Project I was given a brief to create a fully functioning media player using Adobe Flash CS5 and the coding language, ActionScript 3.0.
The player’s requirements were, to play, pause, stop and skip forward and back tracks, to search for tracks, add tracks and sort tracks and create your own playlists of the tracks. A functioning visualiser for mp3 playback was also required, as well as a functioning video player.
A main requirement was also to make the player easily editable, using placeholder images that could easily be replaced by designers who would want to edit the media player to how they want it to look.
At the end of the project I had a version one of the media player created, that did not meet all the requirements set in the brief, however I did manage to get all the play, pause, stop, skip and a library of songs working, as well as a visualiser for the songs playback.
I started the project with very little experience of ActionScript 3.0, but I feel I have learnt a lot about Flash and AS3 throughout the project, and I hope to one day complete this media player to incorporate all the functions stated in the brief.
