The X Factor Final 2010 : Part One

After months of the most dragged out show ever made, the X Factor 2010 will come to an end this weekend and with one act leaving and not making the final three for Sundays show the acts need to perform to impress the voters at home because this time there definitely won’t be any judges input in terms of who is going home. Tonights show also includes duet performances from some singers who have been there and done that in the industry that these acts so desperately wan’t to be a part of. So let’s see what I thought of the acts and their performances in part one of the finale.

Matt – It sounded a bit shakey to me at times so maybe his nerves are getting the better of the now odds on favourite. It also may have something to do with the sore throat he’s been struggling with because those high notes didn’t seem to want to happen in this song I thought. It was still a good performance though and a very good song choice as I could imagine him releasing singles like that when he makes it, because even if he doesn’t win I can see him releasing an album next year.

Rebecca – A really really good song choice. It suited her voice so well and even though she’s still not venturing from behind the mic stand to do a bit of dancing (even if she did have some guys spinning her around a bit) it’s her thing to stand and belt out that great voice and she does it so well then why should she change then I suppose. Some may find her boring but there’s no doubt that this girl has talent and can definitely sing.

One Direction – The harmonies weren’t the best they’ve done so far in the competition but towards the end they pulled it back together and Liam and Harry’s solo vocals were very good tonight. Again I can see these boys releasing an album next year regardless of the results at the end of this show and tomorrows show, which I expect them to be in.

Cher – What the hell was that. It reminded me of something that John and Edward might have pulled off last year. The music seemed to drown out her singing in the first song and I’m not the biggest fan of her rapping in her performances anyway which made the performance the worst so far for me. She looked like she enjoyed herself and she did put in 100% but it wasn’t really my cup of tea to be honest.

Matt & Rihanna – Matt sung his first part absolutely brilliantly and when Rihanna showed up and you think she would show him up, she kind of did in her verse but then there parts they sang together Matt done a good job at keeping up with Rihanna and it was an all round great performance by both Matt and Rihanna I thought.

Rebecca & Christina Aguilera – Rebecca again shows us her superb voice and done a great performance and then Christina Aguilera came on stage and belted out her incredible voice that is just in a different league. It almost shell-shocked Rebecca so much that she was singing quietly and I’m glad that at the end of the song she found her voice again and rounded off a good performance.

One Direction & Robbie Williams – One celeb who wasn’t going to overshadow the act they were singing with was going to be Robbie Williams with One Direction. Robbie isn’t the greatest of singers in the world but is a great performer and he did bring a bit of energy and excitement to the group but singing wise One Direction should stay on there own. Good performance though, these duets are proving harder to chose between by the performance.

Cher & Will.I.Am – Very good song choice for the first half that obviously suit Cher and her rapping but I wasn’t overly keen on the second half. They couldn’t of really picked a better person to perform with Cher either as Will.I.Am’s performance made Cher look much better than what she probably is.

I.M.O.

It is a very tough one to call now we are in the final 4 acts and with no judges decision anyone could stay or go. If it was up to me then it’d be Matt, Rebecca and One Direction making it to tomorrow nights show based on the performances tonight. Cher was also in the bottom two last week so she is probably favourite to go, but as I said anything could happen. I would be very surprised if Matt or One Direction didn’t make it to Sunday’s show though.

THE RESULT

As soon as Rebecca was safe and coming back tomorrow I thought well that’s Cher going home then. That thought was backed up even more when it was left between Matt and Cher in the bottom two as Matt was surely going to be in the final. So predictably Cher did not make it to Sunday’s show and although her singing career may not be over her time on the X Factor is and that means that the final three of the X Factor 2010 are, Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson and One Direction. Who will be this years winner? Tune in to ITV Sunday at 7.30pm to watch a dragged out show which will end with us finding out who will win and have a £1million recording contract.
