Those of you who know me will almost certainly know about my obsession with this horror franchise that has taken the world by storm.
Since the original was released in 2004, the people behind these gore infested movies have managed to release sequel after sequel, year after year. Now in 2010 we have what is being called “the final chapter”of the franchise, and they are looking to go out with an almighty 3D bang!
Filmed with new SI-3D cameras rather than converting into 3D in post-production, the film was written and filmed to be 3D which should make it worth while seeing in 3D rather than those 3D converted movies who do it just for the extra bit of money on the cinema tickets.
The 3D aspect will put the audience in the trap and make them feel as though you are actually in the trap yourself which I can’t wait to see how they pull it off.
For those of you who have never got into Saw and haven’t seen them all or seen them properly, you are the people who will look at these films as not being very good and will only watch them to see someone meet their death in the most gruesome ways possible.
However for me it’s not about the gore or the traps(even though some of them are quality), for me it is about the storyline that the writers have continued to twist and turn, film after film.
I can’t even count the amount of hours I have spent in between each film looking on forum sites and speculating what parts in the film mean and what people think is going to happen in the next films just by looking at stills from the movie.
I’d definitely recommend these films for anyone to watch, but I’d recommend you watch them all chronologically in order to fully understand the story or the twists and turns will just get you lost.
Oh and for those of you that are fans of Saw like me… Dr Gordon is back in Saw 3D and his fate will finally be revealed!
It’s fair to say I am addicted to these movies and I absolutely cannot wait for the conclusion of a franchise that will forever be a big part in the history of the horror genre.
Saw 3D, Released in UK cinemas 28th October 2010.
